I became a professional photographer because I love getting people excited about their photos. I quickly realized that making the actual process fun could be a challenge, but I’ve made it my mission to create engaging and efficient sessions. Whether it’s adding a little fog to a dance pose, coming up with creative themes for preschool photos, or simply playing around with lighting, I’m always looking for ways to keep things fresh—even in high-volume settings.
You’ll get a mix of traditional, timeless images and more creative styles with me. My dance studio clients often tell me I’m the most patient photographer they’ve had. I’m able to adapt easily, whether I’m working with young children, helping parents, or guiding dancers through their poses. I know when to push for the perfect shot and when it’s time to take a step back to ensure everyone has a positive experience.
While I offer outdoor mini-sessions and family photography, most of my sessions are indoors, where we don’t have to worry about the weather. If we do run into a power outage or bad weather, I always reschedule at a time that works best for my clients. My setup varies depending on the type of session—dancers need one approach, headshots another—but I always use Canon mirrorless cameras and high-quality lighting to capture clean, crisp images.
For dance sessions, we shoot directly into the computer so dancers and teachers can be 100% sure they’re happy with the pose. I love working with my clients beforehand to discuss the style and look they want, and I’m always open to experimenting with abstract ideas when they fit.
I’ve spent years honing my craft, with a degree in Visual Communications and five years of one-on-one training under a certified photographer. I’m always learning, whether from industry conventions, peers, or even a good YouTube video. I keep up with trends through all the usual channels—TikTok, and Instagram—but my favorite way to grow is by connecting with other photographers in person.
For me, getting the shot right in the camera is key. Editing has its place, but I believe in the power of preparation and instinct. A professional portrait session is worth every dollar. My goal is to deliver beautiful images with an enjoyable experience from start to finish.
